About Thank You For Being a Friend!
Thank You For Being A Friend the Musical is an irreverent parody of the beloved 1980's sitcom, The Golden Girls. On the shores of sunny Miami Beach live four lively ladies sharing their golden years and their cheesecake together in a cosy, wicker furniture filled bungalow. When D-list pop star Lance Bass and his sex slave boyfriend Cubby move in next door, their loud all night sex parties keep the ladies from getting their much needed beauty sleep. What's worse, they have to get up early and rehearse for the annual Shady Oaks Retirement Home Talent Show! After Lance denies the Ladies request to keep the noise down, what ensues is a Hatfields vs McCoys fued (except bitchier) that can only end with one side of the lanai as the reigning "queens" of the neighborhood.
Featuring an original pop score, a 1980's fashion show, and lots of sex talk around the kitchen table, Theatre Is Easy proclaims, “Thank You For Being A Friend the Musical never fails to elicit fits of hysteria, gasps of embarrassment and outbursts of applause.”
Thank You For Being A Friend the Musical is a campy, laugh out loud funny musical send up of your favorite show from yesteryear starring Blanchet (the sexy Southern Bell), Dorothea (the brainy New Yorker), Roz (the dimwitted Midwesterner) and Sophie ( the wisecracking Italian) that will make you want to give all your friends in the audience a great big group hug!
